Streetworks (NRASW)

Rowan Training Services provide both the Novice courses and the Reassessment courses to renew current SWQR cards.

Our training courses meet the requirements of the New Roads and Streetworks Act (NRSWA) and are made up of a number of units covering the work activities involved in Streetworks. Whether operatives are setting up traffic lights and signs or excavating and reinstating the highway, an appropriate training certificate is required for one person

We are accredited by City & Guilds and when the NRSWA training course has been successfully completed the unit accreditation training is submitted to the City & Guilds register, where City & Guilds certificates will be issued, if applicable, these are then sent to SWQR to issue a new or renewed Streetworks card.

A full list of Units & Modules offered by Rowan Training can be found in the Streetworks Sub-title “Units & Modules”.

As well as the 5 Day Novice course Rowan Training offer tailored courses to meet our customer’s requirements, such as courses to gain just the “Excavation in the Road & Highway” Module – Units 1, 2 & 3. or the the “Signing, Lighting & Guarding” Module – Unit 2 only.

Please see our sub-titles to help you decide which Modules you may require.

Construction Plant Competence Scheme

CPCS

What is CPCS?

CPCS is recognised by the UK Contractors Group (UKCG) and Major Home Builders Group (MHBG), amongst others, as the preferred card to comply with codes of practice for competence and certification. It was launched in 2003 at the request of employers, to help them comply with regulations and requirements, and aims to apply common standards for all plant operators.  CPCS covers a large range of plant and plant-related categories, and more are continually added.

CPCS is owned by the Construction Industry Training Board (otherwise known as CITB) which allocates staff to manage and administer it on behalf of the CPCS Management Committee that develops its policy and strategy.
